A breath-taking view of the ocean along with good food will be a treat to both the eyes and the mouth. Not far away from the shore of the beautiful Michanwi Pingwe beach lies a tiny seafood restaurant called the Rock Restaurant. This is said to be the one and only Rock Restaurant.
This is no less than a fantasy for this is no ordinary restaurant. Seated on a huge rock in the Indian Ocean which is off the coast of Zanzibar in Tanzania .The Rock is located in the southeast of the island and is easily accessible by a smooth-flowing route. It is a 10 minute drive from Paje, a 45 minute from Stone Town and an hour and a half from the north tip of the island. One can also reach there by a boat or swim or by simply walking up to the restaurant depending on the tide.
The restaurant serves a wide variety of seafood which one can relish on and the food served here is always fresh as the nature�s beauty surrounding it. The food has a distinct twist of the Zanzibari cuisine which include delicacies like Fish Carpaccio, Calamari prepared with prawns and zucchini or familiar treats like Lobster Spaghetti and much more. Besides, drinks such as wine, beer and soft drinks are also served.
The Rock is a cozy hut which offers an extensive menu for wines making it a hot spot for a romantic evening with your special someone or for some special occasions making it a memorable meal. The cooks at the Rock are said to prepare a rich seafood meal with great mastery and passion.
