Growing up in a jungle amongst wild animals is something we have heard about only in stories and seen in movies. Mowgli and Tarzan were the famous fictitious characters who grew up and became an integral part of the wildlife. Their family and friends comprised of wolves, pythons, bear, panther, elephants etc. They spoke their language, learnt their skills and lead a life similar to theirs. But, who knew that these stories would actually become a reality one day in the form of a French girl named Tippi Degre.
She was named after Tippi Hedren, the actress who starred in Hitchcok's 'The Birds'. She has even been labelled as the Real Life Mowgli.
Take a look at these wonderful photographs of Tippi, how she raised up with animals, really inspiring...
Tippi later moved with her mother to France. A book describing her adventurous life called TIPPI MY BOOK OF AFRICA was later published and translated in different languages. My Book of Africa is a bestselling novel of Tippi's adventurous life in Namibia. She even set up a website and made a visit to Africa to film six nature documentaries for the Discovery Channel.

It was magical to be able to be free in this nature with this child, explains Sylvie. She was a very lucky little girl she was born and raised until the age of ten totally in the wild. It was just the three of us living in the wild with the animals and not too many humans. Living with her wildlife photographer parents, the three of them travelled extensively through Africa on a unique and incredible adventure. Tippi always said that everybody was gifted and this was her gift, explains Sylvie. She was in the mindset of these animals. She believed the animals were her size and her friends. She was using her imagination to live in these different conditions. She had no fear. She did not realize she was not the same size as Abu the elephant. She would look into its eyes and speak to him.
